A Different Kingdom

My friend has a very high-profile role in his company. He has several people that answer to him, and the pressures of his job are very stressful. He shared with me all the decisions he makes on a daily basis and how many lives were affected by them. In this pressure-cooker world of business, he shared with me his “life verse” that keeps him focused on the “different Kingdom” he is a part of. It’s 1 Peter 2:12:

“Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day he visits us.” (NIV)

If you don’t have a life verse, I don’t think my friend would mind if you made this one your own! It reminds us that while we are in the world and are impacted by all the different things that run counter to God’s kingdom, we are called to live in such a way that points people to Jesus.
