Advent: More Than A Countdown
We've spent the last few days taking time out to focus on Thanksgiving, and the beginning of the month of December is quickly approaching. Perhaps you remember as a child the weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas as the s-l-o-w-e-s-t of the year, as you anxiously awaited Christmas morning. As adults, our experience may be a little different, as the coming weeks often bring the busiest schedules of the entire year. The season of Advent, though, invites us to view Christmas time with a different lens--one that recognizes that the Kingdom of God has come, and is yet to come, because of the birth of a baby in Bethlehem. This Sunday, we'll explore what it means to live with hope in a world that is in desperate need of Good News, and ask ourselves how we might demonstrate the love of Christ, the hope of glory, during this Advent season.
