Trust: When Things Are Not As They Seem - Week 1 // August 11, 2024

This week at BCC we started a new series simply titled, “Trust”. In this series we will be exploring radical trust in God in all circumstances. This is a not a trust that is always without fear or doubt, but rather a choice of trust in a God who has our best end in sight. Join us for week one of “Trust”.

Theme Verse: Proverbs 3:5 (NASB)

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding.”

Things to consider as you listen:

  • Trust in God is a day by day decision.

  • When our own understanding is misleading, we choose to trust the one who’s always working.

  • God Is in the midst of the always-developing story of humanity.

  • This side of Heaven evil and good will always intermingle, but God’s purposes will also always prevail.

  • Unchecked pride can lead only to disaster.

  • Sometimes what feels like harm is actually a gift of grace.

  • God acts with the whole scope of the human story in mind.

    • When it doesn’t make sense, get BLANK.

    • I wonder how God is BLANK his story into the world right now?

  • God sees beyond the moment and see the trajectory.
