The Church Embodied - Week 4 // October 20, 2024

Join us here at BCC as we continue our series titled, “The Church Embodied” as Pastor Jeni once again preaches on the theme of how we are the embodied Church of Jesus Christ. Specifically this week, Pastor Jeni preaches from Acts 2:42-47 and talks a bit about the origins of the Church and what we can glean from its early days in context to us today.

Things to consider as you listen:

  • Digital connection is masquerading as the God-given gift of connection & community.

  • “devoted themselves” - persist obstinately - keep on with devotion - associate closely - to continue to do something with intense effort with the possible implication of doing so despite difficulty

  • The Holy Spirit embodied within the people of God pressed them into one another with extreme devotion.

  • We’re invited to ponder how our worship/study of God is compulsively enmeshed with our communal life & prayer.

  • By His Spirit, God builds the Church.

  • Devoted community rooted in continuous commitment to God & one another compels a lonely, lost world to wonder about the Good News that binds us together.
