Joy - A Life of Downward Mobility

How often do you think about your next career move? According one business journal, if you're not thinking about changing jobs every 3-5 years, you'll end up making less money and miss out on advancement opportunities (Fast Company). Companies are increasingly rewarding those who are aggressive over those who are loyal.

It's tempting to chase the path of "upward mobility", but the Kingdom of God invites us to choose a different way. A way that is straight and narrow. In writing his letter to the Philippians, Paul describes the "downward mobility" of Christ and exalts this as the example for Christians. It's a way that few will choose, but with this difficult choice, the promise of joy awaits.
